1 Month of Writing ideas for August

Image
How quickly did July fly by? It flew by so quick! I haven't made time to write and work on my blog this past month. However, one day while I was scrolling on Instagram I came upon this post: https://www.instagram.com/p/Cgmp1KoqNh-/ 1 Month of Writing ideas for August, it immediately caught my attention. I began thinking that this could be what I needed to jump start my work again.  So for the next month I plan to do my best to write and use the prompt for the day. Be on the lookout for daily blogposts, and if you want to join the journey check out the page I got the post from: https://www.instagram.com/the.plottery/

Biking to Cahal Pech Archeological Reserve

Image
I made it to  Cahal Pech! As usual I started my Sunday morning with recording the Spanish Mass. I stayed back for about an hour and talked with my friend Carlos. After a while I said goodbye because I knew I wanted to do the trip, but I didn't want to tell him that I would, so if I didn't do it it was okay. With no pressure on me I sent the recording packed my bag with two bananas and twenty dollars. I took this pic at the start with a coke bottle in the water bottle holder jus as a joke.  It had been weeks since I had rode my bike. I did a few days back but it was nothing like this. I kept stopping to drink water and rest my legs and butt. All the time I had spent on the saddle had gone away and had me starting to get sore around the entrance to Calla Creek. I hopped off the bike and took this pic.   Off in the distance I could see a few vultures and wondered why they were circling. I wondered if I was in that bad of a shape. Thankfully it was just a body of ...

BACK BIKING!

Image
So for the past few weeks I hadn't been using my bike. That is because I went to do an errand and when I was going downhill I burst the back brake wire. I saved some money to have a guy fix and service it. I got it back yesterday and took the photo at the top of this post. I wanted to ride it this morning but I was really sleepy. So I went for a night ride a couple hours ago to test the breaks and the new grips. It works great, and I haven't forgotten how to ride my bike. I'm going to start practicing again so that I can continue biking around Belize.

A Chameleon on a Stick - PART 2

Image
READ PART I HERE We climbed downhill and saw a hole in the ground.  "A de ser de wech," said Angel. "Si way," I replied.  We kept our pace downhill slowly, still looking out for palms. I saw another hole. It went straight down. My first thought was it could be a post hole. Maybe not. What could it be doing all the way up here.  "Es un chultun," I said with confidence. "Un que?" asked Angel.  "Ese," I pointed to the hole, "Es como el refridge de los maya," I added.  "Que berga?" replied Angel.  "Si, aquel dia estaba viendo un programa que hablaba de ese. Unos creen que era para guardar comida, otros que era como refridge, pero no estan seguros. Mas creen que era adonde hacian chicha." I informed him.  "Cho! Vamos a ber si todavia hay algo," joked Angel.  We chuckled a bit, and we kept walking downhill. I was exhausted and soaking wet from sweating in the humid environment. I slid and stumbled until...

Plastic Man

Image
Covid hit us a little over two years ago, and life hasn't returned to the same. I honestly don't know if it ever will. So much has changed, and so many people have died. Maybe you have lost a loved one in these times. You have my sympathies.  In this post I would like to bring you if not a sliver of hope, a bit of joy.  Today I was sitting outside and talking to my mom. I looked at the street and saw a slowly rising face walking uphill. It was so shocking to me when I saw him. Both my mom and I had thought that he died because there were rumors of the man that sold plastic's death. We were so surprised but so happy that he was alive. We told him that it was so good seeing him. We thought he died. He said yes, a couple people told me that today. We talked for a bit and then he said goodbye.  I spent some time smiling with my mom and saying how cool that was. If only it were like that with everyone. If only it were like if the borders were closed, and one day it is opened a...

Creating Animations on Pivot Animator

Image
Been a while since I made something, so I was checking on random stuff I saved and I found this link: PIVOT ANIMATOR It takes you to Pivot Animator. I can't remember where I saw about it but I decided to download the basic version and have some fun with it. So I made this first: That was my first animation. Pretty basic and choppy, I was just testing how it worked. Then after that I decided to make another one. I put a little bit of thought in the next one. I really like X-Men's Night Crawler's ability to teleport, in the films he hasn't had a really cool use of it. So I decided to make it look like if the little stick figure is teleporting just to try and punch the bigger stick figure but misses, tries again and it got knocked out really easy and then the guy just walks off funny looking.  Feel free to check out the link and download Pivot Animator.
